My Trip To: Ecuador (Part 3)

Ecuador 2014 – Part three
Please read Ecuador 2014 part one for more info. This post will basically just be a lot of photos (along with some lines) from my trip.

HEADING TO OTAVALO & IBARRA
One of the days we got up early to head to Otavalo and Ibarra. Otavalo has one of the biggest, and in my opinion nicest, indigenous markets. Ibarra is a city where I believe my great-grandmother Laura grew up, and Ibarra happens to have the best ice-cream e v e r. The two towns are very close to each other so whenever we go to visit one of them we always swing by the other. It takes a good few hours to get there and we stopped at this semi new restaurant/inn which is located in Otavalo just a short drive from the market.

My grandfather’s place. We took two cars since we were seven people.

TIP: Make sure to have coins if you decide to do a roadtrip in Ecuador.

I absolutely love driving through Ecuador. Is there anything more beautiful than the mountains in the background?

Not sure I’d like to stay in that motel

Trash is definitely picked up differently

A pretty cool statue, and a pretty faceless guy !?
