Life Lately ♡

January, 2016.

I started off the new year in London, England. I actually stayed in England until the 12th of January, so I basically started the year in vacation-mode, which I guess is a pretty neat way to begin a new year really. England was beautiful, the weather was not too cold and I had a really good time. I did some shopping, playing boardgames, watched The Hateful Eight at the cinema and pet some sheep! When I arrived back in Copenhagen it had become winter. Man it was cold the first week being home. The day after I came home it started to snow and then it became cold, at least in my eyes (-4 celcius!). I spend the last few weeks of January preparing for uni, working, blogging and I started reading Charlotte Crosby’s ‘Me Me Me’. I have especially focused on preparing for my upcoming Bachelor project/paper I have to hand in in the middle of May. But I have also made sure to relax before it all really takes off.

Five Tips for saving money (as a student)

As I am a student, I am on a budget. I figured I’d share some of my best tips for still having a “fun” life whilst on a budget. Because it is not impossible! You just have to prioritize a bit (which I guess is sort of obvious). I didn’t make a budget until a few years ago. I wish I had done it at the beginning when I moved out, but hopefully these tips can inspire someone else. Do leave your own tips in the comments if you have some too!

Monday Mumbles

01. When I was in England I ordered a lot of cookbooks. I’m not certain how anyone can resist a beautiful cookbook. Perhaps it’s just one of my ‘things’. I love cookbooks. I love the fact they are packed with yummy inspiration (probably because I like to cook) and they usually give great guidance. The one thing that can become a headache is the fact that measurements differ from country to country. However, I bought these smart magnets from Lakeland which has some conversions written on em’. Now the funny thing about all my cookbooks is that I didn’t have room for them in my suitcase haha so I kinda left them at Matt’s place and last Friday he brought some of them with him. Time to try new recipes!

02. This is my last week of “vacation” before classes begin again. This week im gonna read some, work and hopefully feel ready for classes. I must admit this upcoming semester is going to be tough. Like, really tough. I have three classes + my bachelor paper to write. It will be tough. But I will do my very best. That’s really all I can do.

03. I helped my friend Maiken move for a few hours last Saturday. I’m sad to see her leave Copenhagen (because we lived really close to each other) but I am so very happy that she has gotten a new place with space for her cats and her new boyfriend (Haha I kinda made it sound like he’s classed as a cat too. He’s not though, or is he? ?). I look forward to visiting them in their new place!

04. Today I plan to bake a few buns for sandwiches for this week and next week. I really like making my own bread it just tastes a bit better than the stuff you buy in a grocery store, plus I make sure to put some healthy seeds in there too (i’m obsessed with flax and chia at the moment).

Have a great Monday!

A little Origins skincare giveaway

It’s really become winter here in Scandinavia, which means the biting cold really hits our skin. For that reason I figured it would be a great time to give away this amazing set of skin-savers from Origins. In the set you get a great face wash, a clay mask, an amazing scrub and a lovely hydrating moisturiser. I am personally a big fan of the scrub and mask and I use them weekly! I do switch my face wash routine up a bit but at the moment I am actually using this one daily, I’ll soon run out though. I have another face wash from Clinique lined up though which I am intrigued to try.

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette

I’m thrilled to share my thoughts on the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette. This collaboration with the iconic Gwen Stefani brings a touch of glam. The packaging is a sleek mix of black, white, and gold – it’s totally Gwen. Now, the shades – a combo of everyday neutrals and bold colors.

However, I have to mention that while the shades are pigmented and look pretty, the blendability isn’t as smooth as I hoped. The shimmer shades “Pop” and “Harajuku” are gorgeous, but they really do no blend or apply well in my opinion. I think I got this mainly because of Gwen Stefani, and I would recommend other Urban Decay palettes over this one. But it is a beautiful palette and I’m happy it’s in my collection.
